A Train Boy

I often travel from Koparkhairane to Thane and then wherever I want to go. During this 20 mins train journey, I had seen this boy when he was just 11-12 years old.

This tiny human structure had something very interesting to observe and learn. Every day I could see him selling knick-knacks in the train. For some people it was a daily scenario but what attracted me is not his work which he used it but his selling style and attract the customers. And yes, people eventually used to gave in and buy stuff from him such as earrings, hair-clips etc. After 2-3 years, I was not travelling much by train and I forgotten that boy.

Just 1 week back I was travelling in the train. I saw this same small boy who has grown up now and might be around 14-15 years old and has also become the marketing expert. During all these years, he definitely polished his skills of marketing. His catching lines like ‘Lenewali rajkumari, ghar pe jakar maramari’ amazed me and made to ponder that even after completing proper education in Marketing and Advertising and having professional exposure, spending to polish the marketing skills. Still people fail at a time to sell the products. Their professional skills sometimes do ditch them when it comes about competition and here this small boy I could definitely see the bright future in him. My only fear is that his Journey of selling knick-knacks should take a one right Flight and not a Train.

What do you guys think?
