You’re there in my thoughts
His
life
It
was 3am. He couldn’t sleep and tossed and turned in the bed. Anjali wasn’t out
of his head yet, even though they broke up 9 months back. He felt coffee would
make it better and he got out of the bed. Hot-steaming coffee made him feel a
little better but his mind still wandered here and there.
|
One
hour past but there was no sign of sleepiness. “Is she still thinking about me
or is it only me who hasn't moved on? Has she got a new boyfriend? She might have got, she is beautiful. Endless questions and doubts kept hammering his
head until his eyes were droopy. By the time he slept it was 5am.
Her
life
She
dreamt of Vishal and suddenly woke up from the sleep and couldn't sleep back again. She checked the watch it was 5am. She spoke to herself, “why would ishal
come in my dreams when he is not at all thinking about me? Is he? He must have
got a girlfriend. He is a guy next-door kind of.” She wondered for a while
thinking is she only who hasn't moved yet or is she the only one who is still thinking about him.
She
got up from the bed and started staring out of the window. The stars were
sparkling as usual and she closed her eyes saying you’re still in my thoughts!

It's time to say Khule Ke Khelo Holi!
Holi –
commonly known as festival of colors. Holi is the time to shed your inhibitions;
bond with time and relations and celebrate the festive spirit in you. However, it
saddens me when today many people prefer to avoid playing holi or go outside to
take this festival in full spirit. Rather they are more worried about
colors-stained clothes and how the skin would get affected. Changing air certainly makes me nostalgic
about the time when I played holi during my childhood.
As a child I
used to be always excited by water and colors. Early morning chaos in our area
would make me to get up from my bed and join them as soon as I could. My mother
would insist me to wear used clothes. Once I dressed up, I used to get ready
with my ammunitions such as water-filled balloons and a bucket of colored water
as if going on a colorful war.
At that
time, holi used to be quite simple and no fancy water-guns. We never bothered
about getting spoilt our hair or clothes. All we could play holi whole day with
water and more water. Our group of boys and girls would drag our parents,
uncles and aunties from the colony and would insist to play holi with us. Fortunately,
we had best time ever playing with our elder ones without any hesitation.

Second half
of the day we would become even more mischievous and our gang of friends would
gather to visit other friends’ house. We would drag our friends out of their
bedroom and would smear their faces with gulal and lots of colors. In return,
we had to also prepare ourselves to get colored.
I still
remember how one of the strict uncles of our colony Shekhar uncle would shout
at children for throwing water-filled balloons but it never budged our courage
to throw color and balloon at him as well. Some years passed by and slowly and
gradually he also stopped shouting at us and joined our fun team.
There were
the most colorful days of my life that I still miss them and become nostalgic
of it. It was a time to color your relations, memories and life and it was a
time to re-bond all over again.
Today I hear
more complaints than excitement of playing holi and I am aware of environmental
as well as personal issues. But my question to all of you that when we can
color our hair just because it’s trendy why not play holi when it’s our
tradition? My advice to those people is that there are many ways to play
environment-friendly holi.
Don’t miss
this colorful opportunity and khul ke khelo holi!
Wish you all
a very Happy Holi in advance!
This post is an activity of “I’m pledging to
#KhulKeKheloHoli this year by sharing my Holi memories at BlogAdda in

Do you know some famous writers inspired Hollywood to convert entire novel into a movie? Yes, you heard it right!
Do you know some famous writers inspired Hollywood to convert entire novel into a movie? Yes, you heard it right!
A writer has a power to create an imagination, a power for a
vision! A writer can bring the change in the world; can change your decision,
your thought process or sometimes can just make you dumbstruck! A writer can
take you in a different world altogether with his/her writing. And then, there
it come a Hollywood movie entirely based on the book. That’s the power of writing!
Books written by these famous authors have made Hollywood
directors to take this bookish imagination further making it real!
When we read these books we fell in love with the writers,
the characters, the story but when Hollywood made movies out of them we fell in
love all over again! So are you ready to see the journey of transformation from
Books to Movies?
The Notebook (2008)

This heart wrenching yet romantic love story that brings
tears in our eyes as the movie progresses is based on the novel written by
Nicholas Sparks (1996). Nicholas Sparks is an incredibly talented American
writer and novelist (one of my favourite authors) has more than eighteen
best-sellers in his credit. His work kept Hollywood factory to busy enough to
make movies after movies based on his novels. I loved reading his novel as well
as this extra-romantic movie!
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the
Wardrobe (2005)

Fantasy is the way to escape from the real world and enter
into imaginary world where all dreamy things happen. The more you read, the
more the novel grasps your attention. Even more when you watch the movie; the
magical cupboard, the talking lion, and that white snowy witch (wicked by
nature and you still fall in love with her)! This super fantasy movie never
bores you out and is based on the novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
and The chronicles of Narnia written by C.S. Lewis.
This British novelist is a powerhouse of talents. These two
books were written in 1950 but Hollywood directors had couldn’t sleep and had
pull from the history and present on a grand screen.
The reader (2008)

This romantic dram film screening flawless beauty of Kate
Winslet and young actor David Kross keep you enthralled till the end of the
movie. The movie is again based on the novel ‘The Reader’ by German law
professor and judge Bernhard Schlink. The novel revolves beautiful love
story growing between an older woman and a younger boy and the second half of
the novel completely change the whole picture questioning how one generation
comes to terms with the crimes of another generation.
The social network (2010)

Last but not the least, that comes in my list of favourites that enchanted me the amusing style of writing as well as movie is ‘The social
network’.
‘The Social Network’
is based on The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of
Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal penned by Ben Mezrich (2009). The movie
got its inspiration from the book although the book is not a work of fiction.
Ben Mezrich is an American author best known for his non-fiction work and he
has published several books taking the writing in his own stride.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the post! Take some inspiration from
their work and why not keep writing? You never know when your writing take
sliver path! All the best including me!
