simple road trip would unfold many unexplored and untold sides of their life.
The story discovers many colorful
notions of their life. Abhay’s doesn’t share a good relationship with his
separated parents. On the other hand, Shashank fears about setting up a sweet
shop due to his family’s high expectations & Unnati has her own share of
insecurities about Shashank. Each character’s life is more or less tangled and
they are yet to discover depth of their relationships to each other and what
they share to others.
Three travelers decide to shoot their
journey to make a movie. However, will they be able to achieve what they have set
themselves? Will Abhay’s relationship with his mother be improved? Will
Shashank & Unnati able to cope up issues between them to sustain their
relationship?
My Review
Generally, many readers would think the
story is a travelogue. However, you’ll be disappointed to know that it isn’t a
typical travelogue but more a fiction. Although the story talks about different
places of India like Bhangarh Fort, Jaipur, Thar city, Runn of Kutch; however,
it talks about colorful notions of life. The story reveals about complicated
nature of human relationships; it also talks about one’s aspirations and
dreams.
The novel fails to give you a visual
treat of the places but the author has tried to weave some humor around the
incidents happened at the particular places like Bhangarh Fort, Wagah Border,
Corbett Park Etc.
It also looses the grip of the story
in few chapters as if the story is going in bits & pieces. However, one who
enjoys stories written around the travel might like.
The characters in the story are
hilarious and unpredictable at times representing teenagers impeccably. They
display varied emotions in each phase of life and relationships such as
friendships & family ties.
The author’s attempt to blend travelogues
and story element is appreciable.
The author frequently warns us that no
journey is a smooth ride but rather a heavy-bumpy ride. For instance, robbery
incident, wild animal attack or tour guide’s lack of information at Corbett
Park may put you in trouble. As a traveler, you may want to take his wise
advice.
The story doesn’t provide much
information about the places of India.
The writing style
One can instantly connect to the story
since its writing is very simple.
The book cover & the title
The book cover is interesting enough
to entice the curiosity in you. The title is also apt since the author infuses
relationship element in the story as well as cover Indian cities &
destinations.
My Rating: 3/5
Those who enjoy travel stories &
who are always in search of intriguing stories about human relationships may
want to have hands on.
